Our Learning

Posted by | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 10-10-2016

We have been trying really hard to settle into the new ways of learning in Y2LM. We have been in Year 2 for FIVE weeks now and we have been ever so busy!

In Literacy we have been making sure that all of our sentences have a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop (or maybe even a question mark or exclamation mark.) We have been learning new handwriting joins and we are starting to use them in our writing! We have also been using amazing adjectives and noun phrases to describe settings, characters and objects.

In Numeracy we have been exploring place value. We can describe a number by explaining its value (hundreds, tens and ones), order and compare numbers, place numbers in the right place on a number line and solve problems using our understanding of place value.

This week is a very exciting week for us in year 2 because all of our learning will focus around our topic – Australia! This theme will link closely to binary options ublished minimum trade all of our learning; literacy, numeracy, science, PE, art and Geography. Look out for some photographs and videos of our learning this week (there are a few surprises in store!)
